IITM Pravartak: The programmes aim to familiarise school and college students with the basics of entrepreneurship. The programme covers idea development, business models, market analysis, and related skills through live sessions, study materials, and case studies.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, in collaboration with BodhBridge Education, has announced two free online entrepreneurship training programmes for school students, college students, and working professionals.
The initiatives — “From Students to Startup” for undergraduate and postgraduate students and working professionals, and “Discover the Entrepreneur in You “for school students from Classes 7 to 12 — are designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
The programmes aim to help learners understand how businesses are created, how ideas are developed into ventures, and the basic processes involved in identifying opportunities, analysing markets, and building sustainable business models.
Candidates can register for the programmes through the website at bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in. As per the institute, the first batch will commence on November 1, and the registration window will remain open till October 28. IIT Madras Pravartak said similar batches will be conducted every month.
Programme structure and key features
As per the institute, both programmes include live interactive sessions with experts, course materials, and case studies. Participants will also have access to recorded sessions. The training and study material are being offered free of cost.
“India is witnessing unprecedented growth in startups and innovation. However, structured exposure to entrepreneurship remains limited among students. These programs aim to bridge that gap by encouraging problem-solving, creativity, leadership, and adaptability — skills crucial for future employability,” the official press release said.
The From Students to Startup programme covers identification of business ideas, validation, model building, market research, funding, marketing, and compliance processes.
The Discover the Entrepreneur in You course introduces school students to business fundamentals, ideation, problem-solving, and leadership through case-based learning.
IIT Madras Pravartak: Certification and accreditation
The institute further states that participants can also opt for a certification exam for a nominal fee. A performance grade certificate from IIT Madras Pravartak will be issued based on exam results.
“IITM Pravartak Technologies is a Section 8 Company housing the Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems. It is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems and hosted by IIT Madras,” the institute said.
Elaborating on the initiative, Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said, “By introducing entrepreneurship training at both school and college levels, IITM Pravartak and BodhBridge aim to build a generation of confident, innovative, and socially responsible leaders.”
“Entrepreneurship education helps students gain a competitive advantage in life and career. It fosters resilience, confidence, purpose, and prepares them not only to launch ventures but also to succeed in any field. Students trained in entrepreneurship are more likely to start businesses in the future, contributing to economic growth and societal progress,” he further said.
