IIT Roorkee students awarded with HORIBA Talent Hunt Scholarship 2023-24

NEW DELHI: Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), and HORIBA India celebrated the achievements of 20 researchers who were awarded the HORIBA Talent Hunt Scholarship 2023-24. This scholarship, which recognises academic performance and innovation, was presented by HORIBA India as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at the IIT Roorkee campus. HORIBA India, provided these scholars with a one-time partial tuition fee waiver.

HORIBA India launched the HORIBA Talent Hunt Scholarship in 2023, with the theme 'Together We Grow'. The scholarship is awarded to students at the Indian IIT Roorkee. The IIT-R officials K K Pant, director, R D Garg, dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs (DORA), and Dheeraj Khatod, chairperson, Senate Committee for Scholarship and Prizes (SCSP), Sandeep Singh, department of earth sciences, and Rajeev Gautam, corporate officer, HORIBA, Ltd., Japan and president, HORIBA India, awarded the scholarship to the students at the IIT Roorkee campus.

Rajeev Gautam, said, “The HORIBA Group made up of 50 companies in 27 countries is a global leader in analytical techniques. HORIBA India understands the power of education and young talents, which when nurtured well, shall form a strong foundation of a Stronger, Shreshtha (Surpassing) and Self-Reliant Bharat, hence we initiated this ‘HORIBA India Talent Hunt Scholarship’ in 2023 and continued for this year.”

K K Pant, director of IIT Roorkee, congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to keep striving for more. He said, "I am immensely proud to witness the exceptional achievements of our students. Their dedication and perseverance exemplify the spirit of excellence that defines our institution. Together, with our esteemed partners like HORIBA, we remain steadfast in our commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation for a brighter future."

RD Garg, dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs (DORA), praised HORIBA India for this ongoing endeavour. He inspired the students to pursue a visionary objective, much like the successful IIT Roorkee alumnus.

The event was attended by D Khatod, Chairman SCSP, staff of the media cell and DORA office at IIT Roorkee, and HORIBA India delegates Kanika Thakur, lead - corporate communications, and Sourav Taneja, manager - corporate communications.
