NEW DELHI: Union education minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today held a meeting with the heads of department of school education and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on various initiatives of the government for school education. Along with new institutions and initiatives, they also discussed implementation of the new National Education Policy 2020.
Education minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ talking about the meeting with the director of NCERT, Hrishikesh Senapaty, and secretary, department of school education and literacy, Anita Karwal.
Pokhriyal tweeted that various issues were discussed during the meeting, which include setting up of Regional Institute of Education (RIE) at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The announcement was done earlier in 2016 to strengthen School Education and Teacher Education in the region.
The meeting also included discussion of the annual report and audited accounts of the NCERT, implementation of the NEP 2020 as well as drafting of the new National Curriculum Framework. They also discussed research and the printing and distribution of textbooks.
