August 15 Independence Day: India will celebrate its 76th Independence Day, the day that marked the end of 200 years of British rule in India. Like every year since 1947, Independence Day 2023 will also be observed to commemorate the dawn of a new era of self-governance, sovereignty, and democracy. Swatantrata Diwas – Independence Day in Hindi – symbolises the privilege of Indian people to determine and shape their nation’s future.

Since 2014, prime minister Narendra Modi's speech on independence day has listed the government’s achievements and future aspirations. This year, the government has launched the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign intended to honour the 'Motherland' and the brave souls who fought for India’s freedom. Plantation drives, Tiranga rally, discussions on freedom fighters, pledge-taking ceremonies are some of the initiatives planned for the Independence Day celebrations.

As part of the celebrations, Careers360 has brought to you an Independence Day 2023 quiz with 10 questions on freedom fighters, India, and its people. Check the correct answers at the end of the Independence Day 2023 quiz.

We wish you a Happy 76th Independence day!
