India’s first Botathon at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 16: Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, witnessed India’s first-ever Botathon. The event hosted by Automation Anywhere, a global leader in robotic process automation (RPA) to inspire students, developers and IT professionals to develop software bots and engage in new RPA career paths as the technology becomes more ubiquitous across India.
“The Botathon initiative from Automation Anywhere encourages students to acquire a better understanding of RPA. We welcome new initiatives and are proud to have been an early partner to design a "Bot Lab" at our DSCE campus and will continue to strengthen our relationship with Automation Anywhere to offer courses that bring RPA into our future curriculum," said Dr. C. P. S. Prakash, Principal, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru.
The three winners of Botathon Bengaluru 2019 included the winner, Siva Sankari from Christ University; Yash Shah, the first runner-up and Nikita Hakari, the second runner up. Both Yash and Nikita attend Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering.
The Botathon included participation from more than 30 colleges in Karnataka. More than 1,000 students experienced hands-on learning during the event and competed in a bot-building program where they showcased their skills in RPA to improve their employability after graduation. Out of 500 students shortlisted for the product assessment program, 105 made it to the final bot building competition.
“Botathon has brought greater awareness of RPA to students from various colleges in Karnataka. Our partnership with Automation Anywhere aligns closely to our vision to upskill students in RPA and provide new opportunities for them as they enter the workforce,” said Sudeep Das, Lead Partner Initiative, Future Skills at Nasscom.
Automation Anywhere plans to host additional Botathons in Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Jalandhar, and Delhi NCR beginning next month.
