Industry-Academia debate on Issues with Millennium Workforce at 2nd GD Goenka University HR Summit

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 19: School of Management, GD Goenka University, Gurgaon recently organized HR Summit “Heuristic” with the theme “HR Practices for harnessing the Potential of a Millennial Workforce”.

The Summit endeavoured to bring renowned professionals and leading HR experts from multiple sectors, academicians from leading educational institutions and stalwarts from multiple domains to deliberate on key issues pertaining to working with and retaining the millennial generation.

The Summit was represented by over 100 industry delegates, PhD Scholars, HR faculty and management students. Some of the key speakers and guests at the event were Directors, CEOs and senior HR professionals from leading PSUs, MNCs and HR Consultancies like Welspun Group, Amazon, IBM, Positive Vibes, Huawei Telecommunications, VFN Group, ALGOL Group, Enabling World, Vodafone Idea, HMD Global, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Resource Solutions, Terumo Global, Positive Vibes and many more.

Each of the panels deliberated in depth on the generational divide between the workings and practices of the millennials. There was an emphasis on need for academia to enhance soft skills like resilience and patience in millennial students as well as building hard skills like data analysis. The industry agreed to enhance their interaction with the students through more live projects and interactions during the academic studies.
