JAM 2020 application deadline extended till October 9; register before 5.30 pm
New Delhi, October 9: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, has extended the last date of filling the JAM application form till October 9, 2019 (5.30 pm). Earlier, the scheduled deadline of registering for JAM 2020 was October 8. The JAM application form was released on September 4, 2019, in online mode. Candidates who have not filled out the application form must visit the official website of JAM, i.e. jam.iitk.ac.in. Changes in the selected test papers can be made before the closing date by paying an extra fee online. JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) is the portal to be used to fill the application form of JAM, download admit card and check the result too.
It is officially notified that IIT Kanpur will open the JAM application form correction window after the process of filling the JAM application form ends. Candidates who wish to make changes in their gender, exam centre and category can apply for the corrections online.
Steps to fill the JAM application form
Step 1. Visit the official website of IIT JAM (jam.iitk.ac.in)
Step 2. Click on ‘Candidate Portal (JOAPS)
Step 3. Click on ‘New User? Register Here’
Step 4. Enter the login credentials and fill the JAM application form
Step 5. Enter all the personal, academic details and upload the requisite documents.
Step 6. Pay JAM 2020 examination fee
Step 7. Print confirmation page for future reference

After the payment of JAM application fee, candidates will receive the confirmation of payment in JOAPS portal. It is suggested that aspirants take multiple printouts of the fee receipt and soft copy of JAM application form for any future reference.
About Joint Admission Test for M. Sc. (JAM)
JAM is conducted every year by one of the twenty IITs in India which acts as a gateway for admission in M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-UG Degrees Programmes at the IITs and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at the IISc. A total of 2245 seats are offered in various participating institutes for various programmes. JAM, a national-level examination which is conducted in a computer-based mode (online), will be held on February 9, 2020, the result of which will be announced on March 20.
