Only those candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2023 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. Candidates should have also scored 75 percent in Class 12. This year, NTA revised the eligibility criteria and announced that students who have scored 75% marks or are in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 of any education board will be eligible to seek admission to IITs.
Recently, Bombay High Court dismissed the plea seeking relaxation of the 75% eligibility criteria. “At this stage we can't intervene with the ongoing process. It is for the government to consider students' grievances," the high court said. The petitioners had argued that even after qualifying for JEE Advanced 2023 and giving the exam, they will not be able to seek admission because of the 75% eligibility criteria since they scored less than that.
