JEE Main 2020, NEET 2020 to be held as scheduled: NTA confirms

NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency has released a new notice confirming that JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 will not be postponed and will be conducted as per the schedule. In the official press release, NTA has quoted the order from Supreme Court and highlighted that the career of students cannot be put on peril for long and full academic year cannot be wasted.

NTA said that all efforts have been taken to make the conduction of JEE Main 2020 exam smooth and they provided the facility to change their exam centres to the students five times. The facility was availed by a total of 661911 candidates.
JEE Main 2020 exam dates are September 1 to 6 and the authorities have also released the admit cards of the students at jeemain.nta.nic.in. As per the notice 649223 candidates have downloaded their JEE Main 2020 admit card so far, against a total number 858273. NTA also claimed that 99.07% of the JEE Main 2020 candidates have been offered their first choice of preference of centre cities. The agency further stated that 142 candidates have subsequently requested for a change in their allotted centre city due to various reasons, and the NTA is considering these requests positively.
15,97,433 candidates have registered for NEET 2020 exam which is scheduled to be held on September 13. In case of NEET 2020, 95000 candidates availed the facility to change their exam centres and they have been accommodated against their revised choices. Also, 99.87% will be provided their first choice of exam centres. NEET admit cards will be released soon.
NTA has made elaborate arrangements to sanitise the centres before and after the conduct of the examinations, give fresh masks and hand gloves. Comprehensive Advisory regarding COVID-19 for All Functionaries has been prepared for centre management as per MHRD guidelines. Students have also been provided with issued ‘Important Instructions for Candidates’ as well as ‘Advisory for Candidates regarding COVID-19’ along with their JEE Main admit cards and the same will be provided with NEET admit cards.
This press release has put an end to all speculations on the postponement of JEE Main and NEET exam. Students should now get prepared for their exams.
