NEW DELHI: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has left a huge impact on the academic and especially the entrance examination territory on a national level. With NEET and JEE Main 2020 being continuously postponed and not cancelled by MHRD and NTA, students have been left worried on how they will attempt the examination at various centres with their health at risk. While many students are protesting and trending #PostponeJEE_NEETSept, there are another set of students who are demanding no further delay of the examination and wish to attempt it in September by itself.
Call for NEET and JEE Main 2020 postponement
Students have started a social media campaign #PostponeJEE_NEETSept to shift the current dates of the undergraduate engineering and medicine national level entrance examinations. Currently, JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to be held between September 1 to 6 and NEET 2020 on September 13. The students are demanding postponement on the grounds of their safety since COVID-19 is still on the rise in the country. Various student associations have backed up the students’ demands and are asking the authorities to take the health risks involved into consideration.

Students also ask for no further delay
However, some students are demanding no further delay of the entrance examinations. According to Indian Express, many coaching institutes have informed that the students are currently raising concerns regarding the delay and finding it hard to stay focussed and study. Students are also worried that the constant postponement will end up affecting their entire academic year. In contrast to the postponement social campaign, the students who oppose the same are trending #donotpostponeNEETandJEE.

Let's take personal precautions and tell the same to our kids. So please don't postpone this time. Those who are in favour of postponing exam they have already decided to lose a year so let's make it optional. @HRDMinistry @DrRPNishank #donotpostponeNEETandJEE
