JEE, NEET 2020: Supreme Court to hear 6 states’ review petition today

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will hear the review petition on JEE Main and NEET 2020 postponement on September 4 at 1:30 pm. The petition was filed by six ministers from opposition-ruled states. After the National Testing Agency and Ministry of Education refused to delay the JEE and NEET examinations any further, and the August 17 decision of the Supreme Court in the favor of conducting authorities, the six filed the review petition on August 28.

The review petition seeking the exam postponement will be heard by three-judge bench led by Hon’ble Justice Ashok Bhushan.

Who filed the review petition?
On August 27, The opposition leaders had decided to jointly move SC seeking postponement of NEET, JEE Main. The decision was taken to postpone the exam further due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The plea was filed by ministers of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
