JELET 2024 registration begins today at wbjeeb.nic.in; exam fee

NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will commence the registration for the Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry Test (JELET) 2024 today, February 8, 2024. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the JELET registration form 2024 through the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. JELET 2024 exam will be held on June 26, 2024.

The examination fee for male candidates belonging to the general category is Rs 500, while general female candidates and SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS male candidates will have to pay Rs 400. Female applicants from SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS categories and third gender candidates will have to make payment of Rs 300.

JELET 2024 will be conducted as an OMR-based test for admission into the second year (third semester) of undergraduate courses in engineering or technology and pharmacy of different universities, government colleges as well as self financing engineering and technological institutes in the academic session 2024-25.

The detailed eligibility criteria for JELET 2024 are as follows:

• Diploma holders seeking admission in engineering and technology degree courses must have passed minimum three or two years (lateral entry) diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of engineering and technology or BSc degree from a recognized university as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and Class 12 exam with mathematics as a subject or passed BVoc or 3-year DVoc stream in the same or allied sector.
• For admission in Jadavpur University, the candidate must secure at least 60% (45% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA in diploma examination. DVoc candidates are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
• BSc, BVoc candidates seeking admission into engineering and technology degree courses must pass BSc or BVoc degree from any university recognized by UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks. Also, the BSc candidate must have passed Class 12 with mathematics as a subject. The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of engineering mechanics and engineering graphics or engineering drawing of the first-year degree course in engineering or technology along with their second-year subjects.
• Diploma holders in pharmacy seeking admission into degree course in pharmacy must pass diploma in pharmacy with at least 45% (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) marks or equivalent CGPA from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
