Jharkhand CM visits Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences campus; Donates one-month salary

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister (CM) of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren visited the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) campus recently. During his visit, he lauded the infrastructure of the institute and expressed his desire to set up a similar institution in Jharkhand too.

In his address to the students of KISS, CM Soren said, "It is unthinkable to create such a huge institution even by any government". He praised the efforts of KISS founder Achyuta Samanta for the setting up of the institution.

Soren said on the occasion that if such an institute is established in Jharkhand, it would benefit the tribals immensely. He added that the naxal problem and other issues of the tribals can be resolved if an institute like KISS is established in Jharkhand.

Later in the programme, CM Soren advised the students to utilise the platform to achieve their goals with utmost hard work and determination. He also announced to donate his one-month salary to the institute.

Jharkhand chief secretary Sukhdev Singh was also present on the occasion, who said that KISS is not an institution but an empire. He attributed the setting up of the institute to God's blessings.

Towards the end of the programme, vice chancellor of KISS, Deepak Behera bid the vote of thanks. CM Soren's secretary Vinay Choubey and his private secretary Sunil Kumar Shrivastava were also present on the occasion.
