NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has released guidelines on Covid amid a surge in active cases and considering the well-being and safety of the students, staff and campus residents.

The university in an advisory issued in this regard said: “In view of the surge in cases of Covid-19, adn keeping in mind well being adn safety of students/ staff and campus residents, all stakeholders of the university are hereby requested to strictly adhere to following measures or steps to prevent its spread in the university campus.”

Wearing of masks, washing and sanitising hands, maintaining personal hygiene have been made compulsory in the premises.

Employees and family members and students who test positive for Covid or are under home isolation or quarantine have been asked to inform the Security branch.

The security branch, the university added, is instructed to adequately inform and sensitise the field functionaries about the advisories. The chief medical officer, health centre / chief security officer, security branch are also requested to inform the reported Covid-19 cases to the administration.

JNU statement has also provided some helpline numbers to contact in case of emergency. These are 011-26741636, 011-26704766 and 011-26704700 (9 pm to 8 am). For ambulance service, students can call at 9971728866 and 9971728877.
