Recently, one JNU student died and three others were admitted to hospital after a bike accident on campus.

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has issued an advisory for students to prevent road accidents in the campus. The university released the measures in view of the recent motorbike accident in which a student died.
“In view of the tragic motorcycle accident in the JNU campus a few days ago in which one of our students lost his life and two others were seriously injured the following measures are being recommended. You are advised to follow them in letter and spirit in order to prevent further road accidents in the campus,” JNU said in an official statement.

Last Saturday, BA student Anshu Kumar and his friend Vishal Kumar, a former JNU student, rammed their bike into two other students crossing the road. While Anshu lost his life, Vishal was in a critical condition. The two other students, Sachin Sharma and Mrigank Yadav were also admitted to the hospital. As per police investigation, Anshu was speeding and was not wearing a helmet.
