NEW DELHI: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is going to start the registrations for counselling process tentatively on October 6. However, the complete schedule is yet to be announced and counselling dates were disclosed through JEE Advanced brochure. JoSAA counselling process is conducted for B.Tech admissions into IITs, IIITs, NITs and GFTIs respectively.

After the registration process for JoSAA 2020 counselling, candidates will also be required to enter their preference of institutes and engineering courses they wish to get admission into before the last date. This will be followed by announcement of seat allocations in seven rounds after each round of JoSAA counselling. The step wise process for JoSAA 2020 counselling is as follows:

Choice filling and locking of choices
Mock seat allotment
Announcement of seat allotment result
Payment of seat acceptance fees
Reporting of candidates at reporting centres
Confirmation of admission by allotted institute
Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2020 will be eligible for admissions into IIITs, NITs and GFTIs while the top 2,50,000 rank holders will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced as well. Those candidates who qualify JEE Advanced will be eligible for getting admission in the IITs respectively. JoSAA counselling and seat allotment will be done on the basis of ranks secured in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2020.
