NEW DELHI: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JoSAA 2021 business rules along with making the official website - josaa.nic.in live on October 11. JoSAA 2021 counselling schedule has also been announced. Candidates will be able to register for JoSAA counselling 2021 and fill choices from October 16 to 25.
Under the business rules, the authorities have released the rules for JoSAA 2021 seat allocation. Candidates can know who can participate in JoSAA seat allocation 2021 as per business rules here.
JoSAA 2021 seat allocation: Know who can participate
JoSAA seat allocation criterion 1: Candidates should have qualified in JEE Advanced 2021 for academic programs (excluding the preparatory courses) at IITs. Along with this, candidates must satisfy the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination” criteria.
JoSAA 2021 seat allotment criterion 2: Students should have declared passed as per JEE Advanced 2021 result for preparatory courses at IITs. Candidates must also satisfy the criteria for performance in class 12.
JoSAA seat allocation criterion 3: Candidates should have secured a rank in JEE Main 2021 BE/BTech paper for BE/BTech programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. Criteria for class 12 performance must be satisfied.
JoSAA 2021 seat allotment criterion 4: For admission in BArch programmes, candidates should have a valid JEE Main 2021 rank in BArch paper along with satisfying the class 12 performance criteria.
JoSAA seat allocation criterion 5: For allocation in BPlanning programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs, a valid JEE Main rank in BPlanning paper and fulfilling class 12 performance criteria is required.

Candidates must satisfy the following class 12 performance criteria to be eligible for JoSAA seat allocation 2021.
Class 12 Performance criteria for JoSAA seat allocation 2021
Criteria for admission in IITs | Criteria for admission to NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur and other GFTIs |
Candidates must pass class 12 exam with the following subjects: i. Physics ii. Chemistry iii. Mathematics iv. A language v. Any subject other than the above four | Candidates must pass class 12 exam with the following subjects: (a) For BE/BTech programmes (i) Physics (ii) Mathematics (iii) Any one of Chemistry, biology, biotechnology, technical vocational subject. (iv) A language (v) Any subject other than the above four (b) For BPlanning programmes: (i) Mathematics (ii) Other four subjects (c) For BArch programmes: (i) Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (ii) Other two subjects Candidates who have appeared in the class 12 (or equivalent) exam in 2019, 2020 or in 2021 will be eligible for admission through JoSAA 2021. |
The authorities will release two mock JoSAA seat allotments on October 22 and 24 before the actual seat allotment. JoSAA 2021 round 1 seat allotment will be announced on October 27 (10.00 am).
