The Ministry of Education formed the National Steering Committee for the development of National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs) in September.

NEW DELHI: K Kasturirangan, chairman of National Steering Committee, chaired the first meeting for development of the National Curriculum Framework today.

“Secretary, Deptt School Education and officials of department and NCERT had interaction with members regarding provisions of NEP 2020 and expectations from NCF,” the MoE added.
The Ministry of Education had formed the National Steering Committee for the development of National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs) in September.

The committee includes members such as K Kasturirangan (Chair), Mahesh Chandra Pant, Govind Prasad Sharma, Najma Akhtar, T V Kattimani, Michel Danino, Milind Kamble, Jagbir Singh, Manjul Bhargava, M K Sridhar, Dhir Jhingran, and Shankar Maruwada.
Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the committee will develop four National Curriculum Frameworks:
The committee will take inputs from state curriculum frameworks received on the Tech platform and discuss the different aspects of the focus areas for proposing reforms in the national curriculum, an official statement said.

The Committee will finalise NCFs after incorporating suggestions received from various stakeholders, such as states, Union Territories and also in the meetings of Executive Committee (EC) and General Body (GB) of the NCERT and Central Advisory Board on Education(CABE), the statement further said.
Earlier, the National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) had asked states to form regional curriculum frameworks to be incorporated in NCFs.
