NEW DELHI: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be declaring KCET results on August 20. As reported by The Indian Express, Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwathnarayan confirmed the KCET 2020 result date at a press conference which was held on Monday. Students will be able to check their KCET result 2020 at the official website kea.kar.nic.

According to Ashwathnarayan, this is the first time in KCET history that the result is going to be announced in such a short duration. KCET 2020 was conducted on July 30 and 31. The KCET 2020 result date has been confirmed for August 20, which is just 19 days after the examination.

No fee hike and seat matrix change

During the press conference, Ashwathnarayan also announced that there would not be a fee hike due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and flood situation in the state. Seat sharing ration will also be the same as the previous years. Ashwathnarayan had also met the representatives of Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) and discussed the same. The officials also clarified that the 45:30:25 ratio will be continued with the government’s share being 45%. COMEDK and NRI/Management quota will be sharing 30 and 25 per cent respectively, Two types of fee structures will be there for the KCET and COMEDK students. In one of the compositions, the fee will be fixed as Rs. 65,360 for KCET students and Rs. 1,43,748 for COMEDK. In another composition, KCET 2020 students will have to pay the fee of Rs. 58,808 and COMEDK students will have to pay Rs. 2,01,960.

Counselling dates in October

After results are declared on August 20, the authorities will conduct the CET counselling 2020 in complete online mode before the end of October. Students will be allowed to take counselling from the respective districts and do not have to visit Bengaluru for the same. Two rounds of counselling and one round of extended counselling will be held for KCET 2020. No additional round of counselling will be conducted. Transparency will be maintained and seat blocking will not be accepted for KCET 2020. The exact KCET counselling 2020 dates are yet to be announced.

KCET 2020 was held on July 30 and 31

KEA has confirmed that around 1,75,428 candidates (90.23% of those enrolled) had appeared for the KCET 2020 Physics paper while 1,75,337 (90.10%) attended Chemistry. For Biology it was 79.90% and Mathematics 91.92%. The first day of the examination saw around 63 asymptomatic students who were tested positive for COVID-19, while the second day had around 57 and 49 students respectively for Mathematics and Biology papers for the same.
