KVS Class 1-12 admission 2024 schedule, guidelines out; registration begins on April 1

NEW DELHI: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the complete schedule for admission to Classes 1 to 11 for the academic session 2024-25. The KVS Class 1 admission registration process will begin from April 1, as per the earlier announcement.

The KVS has launched a new admission portal, kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in, for apply for Class 1 admission. As per the schedule, the KV Class 11 admission registration will begin 10 days after the declaration of Class 10 board exam results, it said.

“List of children registered, list of eligible children, category-wise list of provisionally selected children, waiting list and subsequent lists to be compulsorily displayed on the website of the Kendriya Vidyalayas concerned, in addition to display on School’s Notice Board,” it said. There are a total of 1,254 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

All newly opened Kendriya Vidyalayas till February 2024 have been instructed to conduct Class 1 admissions in online mode through OLA portal and for other classes in offline mode only. However, “the schedule for Class 2 admission onwards will not be binding for them as full strength 32 is to be admitted,” it said.

KVS Class 1 Admission 2024: Age limit

KVS Class 1 admission 2024: A child should be 6 years of age as on March 31 to be considered eligible for Class 1 admission. The maximum age to apply for admission to Class 1 is 8 years.

“Consequent upon the change in the minimum and maximum age for admission, introduced for Class I in the session 2022–23, progressive change in the age limit for the appropriate classes will be continued to be reflected in future too,” KVS said. Moreover, it informed that a two year age relaxation in upper age limit will be given to Children with Special Needs (CwSN).

KVS Class 11, 12 admission 2024 - There is no age limit for admission to Class 11 provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing Class 10 board exam. Similarly, there will be no upper and lower age limit for Class 12 admission as well provided there is no break in study after passing Class 11.
