NEW DELHI: MHT CET 2020 will be conducted between October 1 to 15. The Higher Education Minister of Maharashtra, Uday Samant has posted a tweet stating the new dates of Common Entrance Test, MHT CET 2020 was earlier supposed to be conducted in May but was postponed due to COVID 19 pandemic. More dates related to MHT CET will also be announced soon at the official website i.e. cetcell.mahacet.org. While pleas had been raised to postpone the exam further, the new dates have been released and the government authorities seem sure to conduct the exam after witnessing the positive reports on JEE Main.
The authorities will soon release the mode of exam and type of format on the official website. Samant has tweeted, “Since the Supreme Court has dismissed the plea seeking deferment of Maharashtra CET by saying that- if NEET, JEE can be conducted in the state then there is no issue in conducting CET in Maharastra. Hence thereby, the state government has come to the decision of conducting MHT CET on the given time i.e. October 1 to 15.”

On August 24, by dismissing the plea of seeking the postponement of the MHT CET, the Supreme Court has held that “We already allowed conducting JEE-NEET, how can we now stop exams in one state?” Apart from Maharashtra state, JEE Main is being conducted throughout the country since September 1, 2020.
By looking at the number of deaths caused by the pandemic, the students and parents were continuously demanding cancellation of such entrance exams, Earlier, CET website showing “Due to the global epidemic of coronavirus, MHT-CET 2020 has been postponed till further orders from the State Common Entrance Examination Cell”. Now aspirants are expecting the schedule anytime soon.
