Mohan Babu University's professor Manikandan among world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University

A total of 4,635 researchers from India are included in the top 2% world scientists list published by Stanford University, USA.

NEW DELHI: N Manikandan, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Mohan Babu University, has been recognised among the top 2% of scientists in the world list published by the Stanford University.

The world list is released after considering 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. A total of 4,635 researchers from India are included in the top 2% world scientists list.

Manikandan’s research in mechanical engineering, including 99 indexed publications, nearly 1,000 citations, H-index of 16, and creation of 12 patented designs.

“His recognition extends beyond personal achievement, symbolizing Mohan Babu University's steadfast dedication to fostering academic excellence and promoting innovative research initiatives,” the university said.

The dean school of engineering and computing, Satish, said: “Manikandan's remarkable achievement brings great honour to the University. The entire MBU community congratulates him for this well-deserved recognition. His inclusion in Stanford University's esteemed list of top scientists serves as inspiration, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing exceptional talent and fostering ground-breaking research."

Stanford University published two separate lists this year - the first one is formulated considering both the volume of research papers published and the duration spent in research pursuits and the second list is based on the excellence in research achieved over the past year.

Twenty-two researchers of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and 26 researchers of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been ranked in the Stanford University’s top 2% scientists.
