NEW DELHI: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has rescheduled the Class 12 mid-term exams. The schools which could not conduct the Class 12 mid-term exams 2023 have been asked to conduct the exams by September 20 and submit the results to the board before September 30.

The Class 12 mid-term exams were scheduled to be held from August 21 and August 30. The decision to reschedule the Nagaland board Class 12 mid-term exams has been taken after the schools have been ordered shut to contain the transmission of eye flu among the school students.

Announcing the rescheduling of Class 12th NBSE mid-term exam dates, NBSE in a statement said: “In view of the surge in Eye Flu or Conjunctivitis among school students in certain districts of the State, the concerned District Administration have ordered closure of schools from August 21 to 26 as a measure to contain or break the chain of transmission of the flu.”

Adding that the conduct of Mid Term Examination for Class 12 scheduled from August 21 to August 30 in certain districts is not feasible due to the closure of schools, the board said: “Therefore, those schools who could not conduct the Mid Term Examination within the date given in the Academic Calendar are hereby allowed to reschedule the Class 12 Mid Term Examination and conduct it within the 20th September 2023 and the results of which can be submitted to the Board on or before 30th September 2023.”

Since July 1, the state has reported 1,006 cases of eye flu, the PTI has reported. Dimapur has reported the highest number of cases at 721, followed by Kohima at 198 and Mokokchung at 87.
