NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the application form for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET on December 2, 2019, at ntaneet.nic.in. Candidates who will register for NEET exam on May 3, 2020, must complete five steps for successful submission of the form. NEET registrations for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc & AH courses can be filled till December 31, 2019. Besides undergraduate medical courses, the admission AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS courses will also be granted through NEET UG scores.

Candidates seeking MBBS/BDS admissions abroad should also appear and qualify NEET 2020 exam. With the release of the official brochure and application form, NTA has introduced some latest changes in NEET 2020, which can be checked below.

Steps to apply for NEET 2020

  • Go to the official website - ntaneet.nic.in and click on ‘Fill NEET application form’

  • Register for NEET 2020 by entering basic personal details such as name, ID proof number, category, nationality among others. Note down the registration number and password.

  • Login successfully to fill NEET application form 2020 by logging in using registration number and password.

  • Here, submit remaining details related to qualification, address, choice of exam cities, dress code and other asked by the authority.

  • In the next step, upload the scanned copies of passport size photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression as per the specifications.

  • Then, aspirants need to pay NEET application fees specified for their respective categories in online mode using credit/debit cards and net banking.

  • After successful submission of NEET UG registration form, take a printout of the confirmation page to furnish at the time of counselling.

NEET 2020 latest changes

  • Merge of AIIMS and JIPMER: As per the latest notice, 1207 AIIMS MBBS and 200 JIPMER MBBS seats in respective institutes will be allotted on the basis of NEET UG performance of candidates. Thus, it becomes mandatory for AIIMS and JIPMER aspirants to fill NEET 2020 application form before the due date.

  • Admission to erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir: With the new UTs of India, Kashmir and Ladakh have opted to stay out of 15% All India Quota scheme. Therefore, aspirants from these UTs will be required to fill self-declaration form for allotment of seats under AIQ.

  • Opening of correction window: Since the majority of Class 12, medical students will receive their board admit cards after NEET registration is over. Therefore, the authority has also informed that they will re-open the edit window for NEET application form 2020 for Class 12 students to enter their roll numbers.

  • NEET exam centres increased: This year, NEET 2020 exam will be conducted in as many as 155 cities in India. The union territory of Ladakh is the new addition to the list of exam city.

  • Uploading of live photographs: Media reports suggest, it has been confirmed that NTA has provided a provision to upload live photographs while filling NEET application 2020. In order to capture the photograph for registrations, candidates have to use the webcam. With this procedure, NTA will take control to curb impersonation which happened in 2019.
