NEET MDS 2019 merit list for 50% AIQ seats released for qualified candidates

NEW DELHI, March 8: National Board of Examinations (NBE) has released the merit list of NEET MDS 2019 for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) on March 8; only such candidates who have qualified in NEET MDS 2019 exam are included in the list. The merit list will be used for admission to 50% AIQ postgraduate MDS courses across medical colleges in India. NBE in its official notification has also informed that candidates they will be able to download individual score cards by March 10, 2019.

NBE had earlier released the NEET PG 2019 merit list for 50% AIQ on March 6.

Significance of NEET MDS 2019 Merit List

Candidates who are included in the merit list are eligible to participate in counselling process for admission under 50% AIQ, which will be conducted by MCC in online mode and in centralized manner. Registration for first round of counselling is slated to commence from March 15 onward.

The allotment of seats during counselling will be done as per the merit rank of the candidate, choices opted by the candidate and also availability of seats at that instant.

Counselling for remaining 50% seats will be conducted by respective state counselling authorities (except in the case of J&K where 100% seats are state quota seats). The allotment for state quota seats will be based on NEET MDS merit rank.

Types of NEET MDS 2019 merit list

1. NEET MDS Rank – Lists the overall merit rank of candidates amongst all the candidates who have appeared in the exam.

2. 50% All India Quota Rank – Lists the overall merit rank of aspirants amongst all candidates who have appeared in the exam and are eligible for 50% All India Quota.

3. All India 50% Quota category Rank – Lists the category-wise overall merit rank of candidates under 50% AIQ.

NEET MDS 2019 Merit List – Tie-Breaking Method

In such an eventuality where two or more candidates score the same marks, the merit rank will be decided in the following sequence:

1. Number of correct responses: The candidates with higher number of correct responses in the exam will be allotted higher rank

2. Date of birth of candidate: If tie persists, the candidate who is elder in age will be given a higher merit rank.
