NEW DELHI: The ministry of health and family welfare has approved the reduction in qualifying percentile for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG 2022) by 25 percentile. The decision was taken as per the recommendations of the National Medical Commission (NMC) as a large number of seats had gone vacant in the NEET PG counselling held last year.

“The NEET PG cut-off marks have been reduced by 25 percentile across all categories,” according to the ministry. Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) doctors association welcomed the move and thanked the MOHFW and MCC for the "proactive measure".
Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) had yesterday announced withdrawal of NEET PG seats from five medical colleges. The committee also said that 176 new PG seats have been added for round 2 NEET PG 2022 Counselling.
In July, the government told Lok Sabha that as many as 1,456 seats for the NEET-PG 2021 remained vacant despite five rounds of counselling including a special round.

General – 25 percentile.
PwD General – 20 percentile
SC/ST/OBC – 15 percentile
PwD (SC/ST/OBC) – 15 percentile
The MCC has removed seats for round 2 NEET PG Counselling 2022 from Prince Aly Khan Hospital; South Western Railway, Central Hospital; MKCG Medical College Hospital, Berhampur MKCG Medical College; Poona Hospital and Research Centre; and Government Vellore Medical College.
Round 2 seat allotment result for NEET PG counselling will be declared on October 19, 2022, on the MCC official website, mcc.nic.in. Shortlisted candidates will have to report to the allotted medical colleges from October 20 to 26, 2022.
