NEET SS 2025: MCC adds new super-speciality seats ahead of round 2; candidates can exercise fresh choices.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the Round 2 seat matrix for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) counselling 2025. It has added 11 super-speciality seats across multiple medical institutions while withdrawing two seats from a Telangana-based hospital.
In a notice issued under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), MCC announced that the updated seat matrix has been incorporated into the counselling system. Aspirants can now exercise choices for the newly added seats before the commencement of round 2 seat allotment process. This announcement comes amid uncertainty over NEET SS 2025 counselling process, which has remained on hold for several weeks. Counselling was delayed due to the pending Supreme Court case, Tamilvani & Others vs State of Tamil Nadu, concerning the status of in-service seats and their allocation under the state quota or the All India Quota (AIQ).
