NEW DELHI: The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 registration will begin today, March 30. Eligible aspirants will be able to fill the NEST application form 2024 through the official website, nestexam.in. The last date to apply for the exam is May 31, 2024.

NEST exam 2024 will be conducted on June 30, 2024 for admission to the 5-year integrated MSc programmes in biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and University of Mumbai - Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-CEBS). There are a total of 200 seats in NISER and 57 in CEBS for admissions in the academic year 2024-25.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 examination or equivalent in 2022, 2023 or those who will be appearing for Class 12 or equivalent in 2024 are eligible to apply. Students must have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade (55% for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories and disabled candidates).
The application fee for male candidates belonging to the general and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories is Rs 1,400. SC, ST, disabled, and all female applicants will have to make payment of Rs 700 to apply for the exam.
NEST exam 2024 will be conducted at 128 exam centres across India in two sessions – session 1 from 9 am to 12:30 pm and second session from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. The question paper will be divided into four sections comprising multiple choice questions on biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each section will contain 20 questions carrying 60 marks. Candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while one mark will be deducted for wrong answer.
