NEW DELHI - National Institute of Design made an amendment in the B.Des-GDPD admission handbook 2020-21. In the amendment, the institute revised the tie-breaking policy for preparing the final merit list of B.Des/GDPD admission 2020-21. The amendment was made on July 20, 2020. It may be recalled that the NID mains exam (online interacted) commenced from June 22, 2020, onwards. The exact date and time of the online interaction was mentioned in the admit card. The final result of NID DAT mains will be announced anytime soon. Check below to know the revised tie-breaking policy for B.Des/GDPD admission 2020-21.

Revised Tie-Breaking Policy

Higher rank will be awarded to the candidate's who secure higher marks in DAT mains exam

If the tie remain persists, then candidate’s who scored higher marks in DAT prelims will be assigned the higher rank

If the tie doesn’t break, higher rank will be given to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT prelims exam - Part II

If the tie remains the same, higher rank will be awarded to the candidate who secures higher total marks in DAT prelims exam - Part II questions no. 25,26 and 27.

If the tie still persists, candidates who obtained higher marks in question No.25 of DAT prelims exam - Part II will be assigned the higher rank

If the tie remains the same, candidate who has obtained higher marks in question No. 26 of DAT prelims exam - Part II will be given a higher rank.

About NID DAT
National Institute of Design conducts NID DAT to offer admission to the design aspirants in B.Des/GDPD and M.Des. NID DAT is a national level entrance exam which consists of two stages - preliminary and the main exam. Candidates who qualified all the stages will be given admission based on the marks obtained by them in the entrance test.
