NIMCET 2024 seat allotment: Foctors involved

  • Total number of seats available: The number of seats available in the participating NITs influences the cut-off. More seats may lead to a lower cut-off and vice versa.
  • Candidate categories: Different categories such as General, OBC, SC, and ST have distinct cutoffs, typically with reserved categories having lower cutoffs compared to the General category.

  • Candidate performance: The overall performance of candidates in the exam plays a crucial role in determining the cutoff. If candidates perform well on average, the cutoff tends to be higher.

  • Reservation policies: Policies regarding reservations for categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PwD also impact the cutoff marks.
