National Medical Commission releases guidelines for MBBS bath 2022-23. Academic session starts from November 15, 2022.

NEW DELHI: National Medical Commission (NMC) issues new guidelines for the MBBS batch 2022-23. The commission also released the academic calendar for the MBBS academic year 2022-23.
According to the academic calendar, The first year students will have subjects anatomy, physiology and biochemistry for 13 months from November 15, 2022 to December 15, 2023. The MBBS students in their second professional year will have subjects pathology, microbiology and pharmacology spanning over 13 months from December 16, 2023 to January 15, 2025.
The third year will be split into two parts where in part one students will be learning forensic medicine and toxicology and community medicine or PSM for a total of 10.5 months. The second part of their third year consists of 17.5 months will begin on December 2025 and end in May 2027 in subjects including general surgery, general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, ENT and Ophthalmology.

The MBBS students will ending their course with a 12 month internship from June 1, 2027 to May 31, 2028. PG courses will begin from July 1, 2028 if a student wishes to apply for post graduate courses.
