Kanwar Yatra 2025: All government, private, and aided schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar district will be shut on July 23 for Classes 1 to 12.

All schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar district will be closed tomorrow, July 23, for physical classes in view of heavy crowds and traffic due to Kanwar Yatra 2025 and Shivratri. School heads have been asked to conduct online classes for students of Classes 1 to 12.
As per a Hindustan Times (HT) report, a local holiday has been declared for all government, private, and aided schools in view of Shivratri on July 23. Some institutions held online classes today citing heavy traffic movement, the report added.
The District Inspector of Schools, Dharamveer Singh, reportedly announced a holiday for schools in Noida, Ghaziabad and other districts. Schools will resume physical classes from July 24. The decision has been taken to ensure safety and security of students.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a detailed advisory announcing the closure of several key stretches in the national capital till 8 AM on July 23 due to the pilgrim rush in the last leg of the Kanwar Yatra. In a post on X, the Delhi Traffic Police said the left carriageway of GT Road from the Keshav Chowk roundabout to Yudhishthir Setu (ISBT) will remain closed to vehicular movement till 8 AM on July 23 to facilitate safe passage for Kanwariyas.
