NTSE Scholarships 2019 to be offered to 2000 candidates from the ongoing session; a rise from 1000

NEW DELHI, MARCH 11: National Council of Educational research and Training (NCERT) has increased the number of candidates to be awarded with the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholarships from the ongoing session. A total of 2000 candidates will qualify for the scholarship this year which is 1000 more than the last year. The scholarships will be awarded to candidates according to the reservation criteria of 15 percent for SC, 7.5 percent for ST, 27 percent for other backward classes (OBC) and 4 percent for group of students with benchmark disabilities.

The NTS examination is conducted in 2 stages. Stage 1 was conducted by SCERT of all states and UTs on November 3,4,18 and 25 last year. Almost all states have released the NTSE result of Stage 1 in the form of merit list. These selected students will go on to sit for the NTSE stage 2 exam to be conducted by NCERT on May 12. The admit cards for the same will be released on the official website of NCERT in April.

The NTSE stage 2 result will be announced in the second week of September. Those who qualify the NTSE stage 2 will be awarded with the NTSE 2019 scholarship. Till last year a total of 1000 candidates were awarded with the scholarship. This number has been increased to 2000 starting this year.
