Osmania University plans to hold degree exams in second week of June
NEW DELHI: Osmania University has announced through its social media handle that the semester examinations for UG programmes is likely to be conducted in the second week of June.
The official notification for the same will be issued by the university in the coming two or three days.
“The postgraduate programme examination is likely to commence in the month of July as the OU administration is working on finalizing the exam dates,” said Dr Sriram Venkatesh, controller of examinations, Osmania University.
Dr Ch. Gopal Reddy, registrar, OU said “We will not conduct online exams since a large population of students belong to rural areas. It will not be easy for them to access the internet or infrastructure to appear for online examinations. This is a tentative plan, but we are preparing to hold the semester exams soon,” reports Deccan Chronicle.
In order to compensate for the loss of days due to lockdown, the university is looking ahead to go with the plan of conducting entrance examinations on Sundays too.
The schedule, however, depends on the decision of the government in the view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The university has issued an official notification informing students to pay the examination fee and fill the examination form by June 10. They will also be allowed to complete the same till June 16, with a late fee of Rs 200.
The university has also advanced the summer vacations for PG programmes such as M.Sc, M.Com, MSW, MBA, M.PEd, MCJ, MA and M.Lib.Sc from May 11 to June 7.
