OTET 2021 question paper leaked; Candidate’s mobile seized, says BSE

A female candidate was booked for allegedly taking photographs of the question paper. The OTET question paper 2021 has been reportedly leaked from the Government Girls’ High School centre in Deogarh district.

NEW DELHI: The question paper of Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) 2021 for the first shift was leaked from Government Girls’ High School centre in Deogarh district, according to a Odisha TV report. The OTET 2021 exam was conducted today, April 9, 2021.

The leaked OTET question paper 2021 for set D was found from the candidate’s mobile phone before the start of the exam. The said mobile phone of the candidate through which the question paper was leaked, has been seized at the Deogarh exam centre, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) said, as per the Odisha TV report.

According to the report, a female candidate was booked for allegedly taking photographs of the OTET question paper. The report further quoted the district education officer (DEO) saying that the mobile phone of the candidate has been seized for analysis and necessary action will be taken.

“I have learnt that a mobile phone has been seized from a female candidate. I got a report from the Centre observer at around 9:15 am. We do not know whether the question paper has gone viral on social media. We will send the mobile to the Board for further course of action,” the report quoted the district education officer, Sachidananda Behera, as saying.

Sikarendra Chatia, BEO Tilibani, who was posted as invigilator at the Government Girls’ High School during the OTET examination, said, “We could not confirm if the question paper was leaked or not. But we seized the mobile phone of a female candidate at around 8:30 am. We found the photograph of the question paper in her mobile phone and we are reviewing all aspects.”

Approximately 1,25,880 candidates have appeared for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2021 which is conducted by the Board Of Secondary Education (BSE) across 491 exam centres. The first shift was held between 8 am to 10.30 am, while the second sitting was conducted between 12 pm and 2.30 pm.
