PPSC Recruitment 2024: Registration deadline today for 300 posts, eligibility criteria

NEW DELHI: Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) will close the registration window for recruitment to the post of Veterinary Officer (group-A) in the animal husbandry department today, March 28. Eligible candidates can apply for the veterinary officer posts through the official website ppsc.gov.in.

The PPSC recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 300 vacancies in the department. As per the application fee, ex-servicemen, economically weaker sections (EWS), persons with disabilities (PWD), and lineal descendants of ex-servicemen (LDESM) of Punjab state are required to pay Rs 500.

Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) of all states and Backward Classes (BC) of Punjab only are required to pay Rs 500 as an application fee and Rs 250 as an examination fee, totalling Rs 750. For all other categories, the online application fee is Rs 500, and the examination fee is Rs 1,000, resulting in a total of Rs 1,500.

PPSC Recruitment 2024: Eligibility criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria given below before applying for PPSC veterinary officer posts.

Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 years to 37 years as of January 1, 2024. The age relaxation criteria are applicable for reserved category candidates.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in veterinary science and animal husbandry from a university recognised by the Veterinary Council of India, and should be registered with the Punjab Veterinary Council.

Punjab PSC Recruitment 2024: Exam pattern

The PPSC veterinary officer exam comprises a written test consisting of 120 questions, carrying a total of 480 marks. Additionally, there will be an interview round carrying 60 marks.

Each question in the written test carries four marks with no penalty for unanswered questions. However, there is negative marking - one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

The duration of the exam is two hours. Topic-wise number of questions and marks distribution is given in the table below.
