Punjab Govt launches centralised admission portal for admissions to all government colleges

NEW DELHI: The Punjab government launched a centralised admission portal for admissions to government colleges in the state affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University in Patiala, and Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that “the Punjab government is working swifty to ensure youngsters get online services making studies related endeavours easier”.

“In a unique initiative to realize the dream of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide online facilities to the students of the state, the government today launched a centralized admission portal for admissions in government colleges affiliated to Punjab, Punjabi and Guru Nanak Dev Universities,” Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer wrote in a tweet.

The Punjab centralised admission portal – admission.punjab.gov.in - was launched at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Chandigarh. The portal will have details about the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) admission process, schedule, important dates, seat matrix and much more. The portal also includes guidelines for candidates applying for UG and PG Admission 2022-23.

In addition to the admission notification section, the portal also provides students with video tutorials to help them understand the admission process.

The portal will also serve as a central hub for candidates applying for admission in the state. They will have to submit just one application form to apply for multiple government colleges in Punjab, as per a report. The portal will also act as a one-stop solution for the admission process. Candidates will be informed about the start and end dates of admission in the specific college they wish to apply to.
