NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan government will determine the eligibility of physical education teachers in schools on the basis of Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) too, said Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot. Earlier Certificate Course in Physical Education (CPEd) was the eligibility criteria for applying to the post. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Rajasthan state cabinet and the council of ministers at the chief minister's residence.
Gehlot said in a tweet that as per the revised Rajasthan Educational (State and Subordinate) Service Rules 2021, candidates who completed the DPEd course and BPEd course will also be considered to be eligible to apply for the post of physical education teacher in schools apart from the already existing CPEd course criteria.
"A big decision has been taken in the cabinet to give more and more opportunities to the youth in the recruitment of physical education teacher posts," Gehlot tweeted.
