Rajasthan has budgeted Rs 1,000 crore for books and uniforms; mid-day meal cooks and helpers will get a pay hike; 70,000 vacancies will be filled.

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan will set up three new Residential Girl Sports Institutes in Jaipur, Udaipur and Bharatpur as part of its new scheme, Mission Olympics 2028, finance minister Diya Kumari announced during her interim Budget speech.
The state has allocated Rs 25 crore for setting up these girls-only residential sports institutions in the interim Rajasthan Budget 2024-25.
The minister also announced that a Centre of Excellence for Sports will be set up in Jaipur with an outlay of Rs 100 crore. Mission Olympics 2028 will also select 50 talented athletes and sponsor their training.
In the interim Rajasthan Budget, the minister announced that Rs 1,000 crore will be allocated for upgrading infrastructure in schools, colleges, hospitals and other administrative buildings.
The interim Budget also earmarked Rs 250 crore for repair and maintenance of toilets and other facilities in residential schools and girls hostels. Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated for providing free books and uniforms to government school students.
Rs 20 crore has been allocated for upgrading existing anganwadis to Adarsh Anganwadis. During the budget speech, the Rajasthan finance minister also announced that the wages of anganwadi workers, mid-day meals cooks and helpers will be increased by 10%.

Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated for Atal Innovation Studio and Accelerators which will include software coding, robotic labs, and equipment for VFX and multimedia.
The minister also announced that 70,000 vacancies will be filled across various government departments to increase employment opportunities for the youth.
A full budget for 2024 will be presented in July.
