RRB Group D 2026 recruitment begins; 22,195 level-1 vacancies announced

RRB Group D application 2026 is now available on rrbapply.gov.in. The last date to register for the recruitment exam is March 2.
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the RRB Group D recruitment 2026 for level-1 posts in Indian railways. The RRB Group D application form has been made available today on the official website, rrbapply.gov.in, and the regional RRB portals.
The Railway Board has notified 22,195 vacancies in level 1 of 7th CPC pay matrix. The age limit for various posts under the Group D recruitment ranges between 18-33 years.
The exam will be conducted in a single stage Computer Based Test (CBT). Following which, the region-wise shortlisting of candidates for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be done at the rate of three times of the vacancies. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination before receiving the appointment letter.

The RRB Group D application form 2026 will be available from January 31 to March 2. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must have educational or technical qualification prescribed by the board before applying for the exam. Those awaiting results of their final exams are not allowed to submit their application form.
Diploma, degree in engineering will not be accepted for the post of level-1 unless otherwise specified. “Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA),” it said.
RRB Group D 2026: Important dates
General category candidates should pay Rs 500 and SC, ST, ex-servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC) will have to pay Rs 250. Candidates can check the schedule for the upcoming RRB Group D level 1 recruitment exam .

Meanwhile, the RRB Group D 2025 admit cards for the remaining exam have been issued. The recruitment exams to fill 32,438 vacancies will conclude on February 10.
