NEW DELHI, MARCH 5: After the result announcement of RRB Group D CBT 2018, the official data reflects that maximum candidates have qualified the examination from RRB Chandigarh, while RRB Bilaspur rests at the last position (among all 16 RRB zones) with the least number of candidates making it to the cut off. According to RRB Group D result for CBT 2018, a total 23497 candidates have qualified from RRB Chandigarh, the most from any RRB zone. However, from RRB Bilaspur, it’s only 3478 candidates who have been shortlisted for the subsequent stage – Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Thus, RRB Bilaspur remained the zone from where the minimum number of candidates have qualified the exam.
RRB Chandigarh is followed by RRB Secunderabad from where 19571 candidates have qualified the computer based test and have made it to the PET. Next to Secunderabad zone is RRB Ahmedabad with 18265 candidates qualifying the exam, securing the third spot.

Further, RRB Patna, Allahabad, Ajmer, Mumbai, Bhopal and Gorakhpur are the zones from where over 10000 candidates have qualified the examination. As per the result data, 17941 candidates have been shortlisted for PET from RRB Patna, while14288 candidates from RRB Allahabad have made it to the CBT cut off for appearing in PET.
From RRB Ajmer, 14270 candidates have been selected for PET, while 13880 have qualified the exam from RRB Mumbai. The total number of qualified candidates from RRB Bhopal and Gorakhpur zones is 10569 and 10168.
Out of all the 16 RRB zones, Chennai, Bangalore, Guwahati, Ranchi, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Bilaspur remained the RRB zones which saw the number of qualifying candidates below 10000.
8941 have qualified the CBT from RRB Chennai, while 7765 candidates have made it to the cut off from RRB Bangalore. RRB Guwahati has registered 7734 candidates qualifying the examination, while 7576 candidates have been shortlisted for PET from RRB Kolkata. From RRB Bhubaneswar, 4598 candidates have been shortlisted, while 3478 have made it to the cut off of CBT from RRB Bilaspur. From all 16 zones of RRBs, a total of 1,89,644 candidates have been shortlisted for appearing in PET. According to the result details, candidates three times the total number of vacancies have been shortlisted for the PET from each zone, however, the overall number of shortlisted candidates is a little more than the capping (of three times the number of vacancies).
For the recruitment year 2018-19, the RRBs have announced a total of 62907 vacancies and three times of these vacancies come to 188721, while the number of shortlisted candidates for PET from all zones is 1,89,644.
RRBs conduct RRB Group D examination in three stages - Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification (DV). The exam is conducted for the recruitment of candidates for the posts like Assistant pointsman, gatemen, helpers, hospital attendants, porters, track maintainer, etc.
