SASTRA launches new PhD course in media

NEW DELHI: SASTRA Deemed University has introduced a full-time PhD programme on "The Evolution of Indian Media before and after Indian Independence”. The PhD programme has been started to honour the memory of late Thuglak Editor, Cho S. Ramaswamy.

Interested candidates can apply for admission till December 12, 2020 by visiting the official website of the university - sastra.ac.in. Only those candidates are eligible for admission who have acquired the post graduation degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% from a recognized institution. Candidates with a prior degree related to journalism, History, Public Policy will be given preference.

Authorities have announced that selected PhD scholars will get stipends and quality mentorship. This PhD programme named "The Evolution of Indian Media before and after Indian Independence” has been launched for researchers who wish to study the evolution of media.

Earlier, SASTRA Deemed University also launched 12 Online UG, PG Degree Programmes on October 26, 2020. The last date of online registration for these 12 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is December 31.
