NEW DELHI: Schools across Maharashtra have reopened today (October 4) after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. In rural areas, the physical classes have resumed for 5 to 12 while in urban areas schools reopened for Classes 8 to 12.

As per the instructions, schools have to arrange proper sanitation and basic facilities for the students who are attending physical classes. The Maharashtra government had already issued guidelines to the education officials to monitor the safe resumption of physical classes across the state.

Maharashtra School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad on Monday visited several schools to monitor the back to school situation. The Minister also interacted with the students and informed school management committees to keep a close watch on the classes which are being held in schools across the state with physical distance.

Varsha Gaikwad also urged students to share their experiences on the first day of school. She took to Twitter and said, “The first day is a day to be remembered, especially when it comes after a long wait. We want to share in your experiences of #Best1stDay. So send us your #BacktoSchool photos, videos, songs, poems on @thxteacher,”.

Varsha Gaikwad also posted several videos on Twitter while interacting with students. She also wished the students and parents on the first day of school reopening.
