Study Abroad: Ireland announces scholarships worth € 1.5 mn for Indians

NEW DELHI : The Government of Ireland has announced scholarships worth €1,500,000 for Indian students aspiring to study in Ireland, said a statement from Education in Ireland, a government agency.
Education in Ireland is holding a ‘ virtual showcase ’ on February 27, 2020, in which students will be able to interact with the academic staff from Irish universities and clear their doubts about the courses and admission process. Most of the scholarships will be in the form of fee reduction for students.
Twenty Irish institutions of higher education will participate in the showcase. The institutions are offering undergraduate programmes in business, science, engineering, and humanities, the statement said.
Education in Ireland also announced an additional €30,000 scholarship for 10 students who attend the online event.
Ireland: Higher education scholarships
Announcing the scholarships, Giles O’Neill, director of Education in Ireland said, “There are various choices with regards to scholarships. Firstly, the higher education institutes of Ireland themselves are offering merit-based scholarships. Besides, Education in Ireland, as a national brand, will be giving scholarships to 10 Indian students on the day of the showcase. Each of the scholarships given is worth €3,000 for a fee reduction.”
“Sixty scholarships will be provided for one year’s education at Bachelor, Masters or PhD levels to qualified candidates”, he added.
