NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research has extended the joining time for candidates selected in round 1 under the Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling 2023 for MBBS, BDS courses for the academic year 2023-24. Candidates will now be able to join at their allotted colleges by August 14, 5 PM.

“As many representations have been received from candidates it is proposed to extend the Joining Time of Round -1 for the MBBS/ BDS Courses for the academic year 2023-2024 session. Hence, the period for Joining for the Round -1 candidates is extended up to 14.08.2023 at 5.00pm,” the DME said on the official website, tnmedicalselection.net.

The state counselling officials reiterated regarding fee payment and the methods and requested to adhere to the instructions given in the prospectus. “Mode of payment through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI necessary facilities have been provided for making payment through nationalized banks via bank payment portal by using Net banking or other modes,” it said. If also informed candidates “deduction of fee from the bank account is not a proof of fee payment”.

The security deposit will be refunded only to the account whose details are provided along with the application form submitted by the candidates during the TN MBBS, BDS admission 2023 registration.

It further informed that candidates belonging to SC, ST, SCA, SC converts to Christianity who have been allotted seats in the Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2023 management quota need not pay the tuition fee before downloading the allotment order, if annual income of their parents is less than Rs 2,50,000.

In another circular, the officials warned self-financing institution of strict action if it refuses to admit candidates in any round of MBBS, BDS counselling and demand higher fee other than the fee prescribed by the Fee Fixation Committee.
