Thapar University to conduct B.Tech counselling through JEE Main

NEW DELHI: Thapar University has successfully conducted the counselling for B.Tech/B.E. admissions. The counselling was conducted online in three rounds during August 5, 14 and 24, 2020. Seats were allotted on the basis of marks in class 12 as the entrance test was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. For seats remaining vacant due to withdrawal, the authorities shall conduct the next round of counselling on September 22 (previously scheduled on September 15) based on JEE Main 2020 merit score. Interested candidates may find the eligibility criteria and admission process for B.Tech/ B.E. admissions in Thapar University.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in participating Thapar University B.Tech/ B.E. counselling should comply with the following:

Should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate for Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject

Should have appeared in JEE Main 2020

Possesses a good moral character
-
Should be a citizen of India
-
Should have passed 10+2 examinations in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020.
B.Tech/B.E. Admission Criteria
The concerned authorities at Thapar University shall conduct the final counselling on September 22 based on All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main 2020.
Note for Counselling:

Based on revised eligibility criteria,fresh applications are open

Candidates who have already applied for B.Tech/ B.E admission at Thapar University do not need to apply afresh as the already submitted application shall work for admission through JEE Main merit.

Already registered candidates are also allowed to make changes to the submitted application through login
