Tripura: Schools, colleges and universities closed till further orders

NEW DELHI : The Tripura Government on Friday announced that all schools, colleges and universities under the state government will be closed from tomorrow till further orders. It has just become the latest of around 20 states that have closed schools as a measure against the COVID-19 pandemic. However, education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that exams will be held as scheduled.
Ratan Lal Nath, through his official social media handle, said: “Due to surges in covid cases it has been decided that from April 17 all the classes of schools, colleges and universities which are under the state government (Including private Institutions) would remain closed until further order. Only the pre scheduled exams will be held.”
The Tripura Government had earlier announced Class 10 exams and Class 12 exams will be held as scheduled..
Several states have shut schools and postponed exams amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The central government, after a review meeting with prime minister Narendra Modi, had cancelled CBSE Class 10 board exam and postponed CBSE Class 12 board exam. Several other state governments, including Uttar Pradesh , had postponed Class 10, Class 12 examinations citing increase in COVID-19 cases.
Due to surges in covid cases it has been decided that from 17.04.2021 all the classes of schools, colleges and universities which are under the state government (Including private Institutions) would remain closed until further order. Only the pre scheduled exams will be held.
