TS CETs 2020: Common Entrance Tests (CETs) in the state postponed including TS EAMCET, TS ICET and TS PolyCET
NEW DELHI - Telangana State Council of Higher Education, TSCHE has postponed all the Telangana Common Entrance Tests including EAMCET, ECET, PGECET, LAWCET, ICET, PGLCET. The decision was taken after the State High Court questioned the government as to how the exam would be conducted if the lockdown had been extended in the state. A public interest litigation was filed by National Students Union of India (NSUI) in this regard.
All the major CETS were supposed to be conducted in the state from July 1 to July 17.

July 6 to 9, 2020
TS LAWCET and TS PGLCET
July 10, 2020
July 13, 2020
July 15, 2020
Tests to be conducted on convenient dates after July 16, 2020.

About the CET
The Common Entrance Tests are conducted for admission to various law, engineering, mba, mca programmes that are offered by the participating institutes in different parts of the state. Only those candidates who qualify the exam and meet the requisite cutoff they are offered admission in the college to which they had applied.
About COVID 19
Teleangana and other parts of the country had witnessed lockdown due to the spread of coronavirus. However, states were asked to unlock and certain guidelines had to be followed so as to combat COVID 19. There has been a surge in the number of COVID 19 cases due to which the state government of Telangana had been compelled to extend the lockdown and postponed the exam. New date for the CETs will be announced in due course of time.
