NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 19: Ever since the news of a Karnataka college coming up with an in-box solution to curb cheating broke, it has invited dozens of comments on social media – some are humorous, some angry, some wry observations on the state of education in the country.

On October 16, students of Bhagat PU College in Haveri district Karnataka were handed specially modified cardboard cartons to students to cover their heads with during the mid-term exams. The cartons had an opening on one side for students to see their through. These allowed them to see only what was directly in front of them, that is, nothing other than their answer-sheets

Here are some of the funniest, angriest and most thought-provoking responses to the measure:

What if they switch seats?

Spare some thought for the invigilator.

On thinking and boxes.

Karnataka’s innovations that even the Centre’s think-tank NITI Aayog has noted.

Manoj Kumar gave it a name.

T S Sudhir writes, A carton full of ideas lands Karnataka College into trouble.

Who is to blame?

Humiliated state
