NEW DELHI: The ministry of education and University Grants Commission, UGC are organising a national webinar on holistic and multidisciplinary education and the National Education Policy 2020 at 12:30pm tomorrow. Subhas Sarkar, minister of state for education, will deliver the inaugural address.
To mark one year of the launch of NEP 2020, prime minister Narendra Modi launched various initiatives on July 29. These included the artificial intelligence programme, National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR), National Education Technology Forum (NETF), Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning levels, (SAFAL), new assessment framework for the Central Board of Secondary Education. He also launched the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) which will allow students to design their own degrees and those who leave a programme mid-way, to pick up where they left off later. PM Modi said: ”It is one of the major factors in the grand exercise of nation-building.” He stated that “The NEP 2020 gives the utmost importance towards universal access to education. There is emphasis on aspects such as better infrastructure, innovative education centres to bring back the dropouts into the mainstream, facilitating multiple pathways to learning amongst others.”
